Did You Know…

… that you can find the ACES catalog part types you are looking for by using the Part Search pop-up without first selecting a group, subgroup and part type?

Using one pop-up can replace using the three drop-downs. Each method has pros and cons, but you must try using this feature if you haven’t done so already. It’s helpful to have two different ways to more quickly find your parts, especially if you are still learning all of the groups and subgroups.

Catalog Screen

Normally, when entering criteria on the CATALOG screen to find parts for a vehicle, you must use the GROUP, SUBGROUP and PART TYPE drop-downs to narrow down the search.

However, if you do not know what group or subgroup the part type might fall under, you can bypass the selection of those two criteria and instead search for a part type (e.g. Disc Brake Rotor), or even a portion of a part type (e.g. Rotor), specifically.

Part Search Pop-Up

The Part Search pop-up allows the user to do multiple searches for one vehicle and select multiple part types regardless of the groups or subgroups they belong to. All resulting parts will be displayed in the CATALOG screen at one time.

You can make selections in the Part Search pop-up by clicking the rows in the upper AVAILABLE PART TYPES grid to add them to the lower SELECTED PART TYPES grid. In the image below, a PART TYPE of PULLEY was entered. The result was six part types from various groups and subgroups displayed in the upper AVAILABLE PART TYPES grid.

You can enter another search criteria and add selections from that second search to already selected part types.

There is no limit to how many searches you can combine for one vehicle. Whatever you need!

In R57, there is a new feature coming called “Saving ACES Catalog Jobs” that lets you create a “Brakes Job” with all of the multiple part types that can be used for any vehicle. These saved jobs are probably the easiest way to quickly find related parts!
